CHICAGO, September 11, 2012 - Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today announced that CBOE Volatility Index options (VIX) established a new single-day volume record as a reported 1,221,403 VIX Index options contracts changed hands. Today's record exceeds the previous record of 1,169,892 contracts traded on August 5, 2011.
