(NASDAQ: CBOE) reported today that April 2014 trading volume for options contracts on Chicago Board Options Exchange® (CBOE®) and C2 Options ExchangeSM (C2SM) and futures contracts on CBOE Futures ExchangeSM (CFE®) totaled 107.17 million contracts. Average daily volume (ADV) was 5.10 million contracts, a nine-percent increase from April 2013 and a one-percent decrease from March 2014.

CBOE Trading Volume and Market Share
CBOE Trading Volume:
- CBOE's April ADV was 4.61 million contracts, a 13-percent increase from April 2013 and a two-percent decrease from March 2014.
- Equity options ADV was 1.88 million contracts, a 29-percent increase from April 2013 and a four-percent decrease from March 2014.
- Index options ADV was 1.45 million contracts, a one-percent increase from April 2013 and a seven-percent decrease from March 2014.
- Exchange traded product (ETP) options ADV was 1.29 million contracts, a seven-percent increase from April 2013 and a seven-percent increase from March 2014.
- The five most actively traded index and ETP options at CBOE in April were S&P 500® Index (SPX), CBOE Volatility Index® (VIX Index®), Standard & Poor's Depositary Receipt (SPY), iShares Trust - Russell 2000® Index Fund (IWM) and PowerShares QQQ Trust (QQQ).

CBOE's market share of total U.S. options industry volume was 27.2 percent in April 2014, an increase of 3.0 percentage points from April 2013 and a decrease of 0.6 percentage points from March 2014.

C2's April trading volume totaled 6.56 million contracts. ADV was 312,307 contracts, a 22-percent decrease from April 2013 and a 27-percent increase from March 2014.

CFE Trading Volume and Highlights
- VIX futures ADV in April was 178,167 contracts, a decrease of four percent from April 2013 and a decrease of three percent from March 2014. Total volume in VIX futures during April was 3.74 million contracts.
- Year-to-date, VIX futures total volume of 16.12 million contracts and ADV of 196,565 contracts per day are both ahead of YTD 2013 by 22 percent.
- Exchange-wide ADV during April was 178,438 contracts, a four-percent decrease from a year ago and a three-percent decrease from March. Exchange-wide total volume during the month was 3.75 million contracts.
CBOE Holdings Average Revenue Per Contract
